On 10 October 2004 the Japanese Grand Prix took place in Suzuka. The race went over a distance of 53 laps / 307.573 km.
Michael Schumacher, starting from pole position in his Ferrari F2004, was able to leave his opponents behind him at the start and defend the lead. During the race he kept the upper hand and finished first, ahead of his brother Ralf Schumacher in the Williams-BMW and Jenson Button in the BAR-Honda. With his 13th victory from 18 races, he thus secured the 2004 Formula 1 World Championship title, his seventh title overall.
